By Gary Clark

This is a term that is used to designate the production as well as the sale of goods ethically. This is therefore a movement that was established to focus on how the employees are treated in the developing countries. This movement therefore ensures that the employees have received the share they are supposed to get. This is thus an attempt to alleviate poverty in the developing countries by promoting sustainable practices. The Fair Trade Clothing Foundation is thus comprised of people who have a passion for the environment and human rights. Below are some facts about this foundation.

Everything that you purchase has been made by a person, from the clothes to the shoes you wear. Therefore, there is always a person behind the curtains. This means that everything has a connection to the person who made it. This movement therefore considers the lives of people and focus on the wages, environment and hours of working.

People are urged to purchase these clothes so that they can stand up and support the workers that lack resources. Also, this is a way of supporting the people who are not in a position to speak or do what they want or express themselves. So many workers have been trapped in environments and terrible jobs but can do nothing about it. These people may be getting little pay and work in filthy places.

A very big percentage of the workers are females. Therefore, the garment industry has so many female workers that are going through so many challenges. These workers go though terrible things like working in conditions that can easily cause accidents. Also, they have to persevere the conditions with very low pay.

Also, almost all the clothes that people buy are bought from the developing countries. This is one of the best reasons to buy these clothes. The US of America is one of the top consumers of the garments. Therefore, they support the workers from the overseas. Buying these clothes helps the people from the developing countries have food on the table and shelter for their families.

Several companies are now supporting this industry. These are companies that have the passion and love for ethical treatment of workers. Also, these companies care for the environment. They therefore support the foundation in ensuring that workers work in good environments and are treated well by all people and their employers.

Thus, these companies get these garments for overseas and sell them on their behalf. They may even buy the clothes in bulk and resell them at a profit. Either way, this is an excellent way to support the people who have no power to speak for themselves. In one way or the other, these companies touch the lives of people.

It is therefore imperative to buy the fair trade items because you will be supporting a life somewhere. So not support unethical companies because you have friends there. Think about the people who are struggling to feed their families and survive on very little money. By so doing, you will have touched a soul.
